CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
What to expect in a Kripalu
Yoga class - Classes begin
with warm-up movements and breath awareness
to prepare you for yoga postures. The
heart of each class is a sequence of
postures that stretch, strengthen,
and balance your body. Each class ends
with deep relaxation and meditation.
Class levels range from gentle to vigorous.
Gentle yoga offers
new students and those healing from injury
or other limitations a guided slower
paced sequence with modifications; creating
an environment of support healing.
Moderate yoga builds
energy and awareness aimed at releasing
tension held in the body. Each class
is a complete guided experience suitable
for newcomers as well as students that
are more experienced. The challenge here
is finding the balance between effort
without force or strain, and ease. releasing
tension while remaining alert.
Vigorous yoga requires
basic knowledge of yoga postures and
breathing techniques and more importantly
body awareness. The pace of the class
is quicker and includes more, and more
advanced postures and posture flows.
Yoga Flow is moderate-level
class loosely based on the Ashtanga Yoga
tradition. This fun class incorporates
vinyasa, balance, and challenging postures
along with yogic breathing and meditative
techniques. The goal is to help students
gain strength, focus, and flexibility,
while leaving students feeling energized
yet extremely relaxed.
Yoga for All is a wonderful blend of yoga styles are brought together in this class. Students are encouraged to go deeper as they practice holding postures longer, developing strength, balance and flexibility. Emphasis is on deepening the breath, alignment and form. A safe environment is provided for students to allow their intuitive self to adjust the intensity of their own practice.Appropriate for multi-levels and all are welcome.
Yoga for Kids utilizes philosophies from yoga and dance,
allowing children to learn through their bodies. Practice is adapted so that
selected postures, dance, and relaxation techniques support the children's
stages of development. Warm ups and cool downs, games and activities, and
creative dance are all used to learn about anatomy, yoga postures, and
movement. Classes are a combination of form and freedom, designed to maximize
energy, imagination, and a sense of play. This non competitive environment
invites self expression and supports building confidence, comfort, and trust in
their bodies

Yoga for Teens is the combination of a moderate level Kripalu yoga class, youthful energy and excellent (and sometimes live) music. This is an opportunity for young people to learn the basics of breath and body awareness and connect with their inner source for guidance and growth. Bombarded with messages that happiness and answers are found outside: the challenge for this yoga is accessing and choosing the wisdom within. Tools for life…why wait?

Journey Dance is a funky movement experience of Liberation, Manifestation, and Celebration. Inspirational music along with expressive movement, improvisation, visualization, and energy work support self exploration and transformation. The flow of Journey Dance releases stress and inhibitions, making room to connect with your hearts desires and true energy. No dance experience or partner is necessary for this joyous form of dance.
